Photo Editing with FotoFuze

Having great photos is key in online selling. Most sellers will use natural light with a white background or a light box then process the photos in a photo editing software. I discovered FotoFuze when I was browsing through the Etsy Apps section and decided to give it a try. I have some photos I used with my homemade lightbox that I wanted to try editing them with this software.

Edited Photo: Even better with FotoFuze

You can sign up with FotoFuze using your Etsy account or through your email. A video will pop-up and I suggest you watch it so you can see the tips on how to use the system.

I tried FotoFuze with one of my processed photo to see how it performed. I must say I was pretty amazed at how easy FotoFuze was to use and I liked the results. You just need to use this highlighting tool and highlight the main object as well as the shadow then you can click on the Finish button and  you’re done.

Highlight the Main Object and the Shadow

You need to upload the photos into the site. You don’t have to wait too long however if you want to upload really fast you can resize the photo to  a smaller resolution before uploading them.

Overall, I would say that FotoFuze is a great and easy to use tool. It’s easy to sign up and it’s free. You can donate to the developers through the site via Jungl. Half of your donation goes to the charity of your choice. I highly recommend FotoFuze.

StickyGram Magnets for Instagram Photos

I saw this great service which converts your Instagram photos into magnets. StickyGram makes a set of 9 magnets for only USD 14.99 plus free shipping. Had I known about this service before Christmas I would have ordered some magnets as gifts. Anyway, Valentine’s day is coming up. This would be a great gift for your special someone.

Film Scanner

While on Christmas vacation, we went through our old stuff looking through old pictures and letters and we found a lot of film negatives. My scanner here in Singapore doesn’t have a back light so I can’t scan negatives plus it would be a hassle to bring the scanner or the negatives to Cebu or to Singapore. I got some negatives scanned at PHP 120 per 36 frames so that’s about SGD $4 or USD $3.5 per roll. So since we still have a lot of negatives in storage we wanted to digitize them so we can share them with family and friends.

Cheaper alternative to commercial film scanning

We went to this place called CDR King. They sell computer stuff and so many other things at bargain prices though some of the items are not so durable but the low prices make the purchase worth it. You can just chunk the old device and get a new one. I’ve bought some stuff there before and they last somewhere from 3 months to 2 years. There’s a local warranty so you really need to test the product before taking it overseas.

Anyway, this film scanner is about PHP 2,800 (SGD $ 85 / USD $64) and we’re getting it when we get back on February for another visit to Cebu. I just hope it’s still for sale then.

Fujifilm INSTAX MINI 7S Camera and Film Kit

There are a lot of Fuji Polaroid cameras for sale here in bazaars and I’ve been wanting to get one for the longest time. I’m just not so sure how long these prints will last. I wouldn’t want any treasured photos to just fade away and be lost forever. This camera set from  astore seems like a bargain since comes with 5 twin packs of INSTAX film so that should make about 100 prints.

Hair Problems

When I went for my test make-up with the make-up artist we hired for the wedding, he commented on how thin my hair was and that it was not long enough for a proper updo.  He recommened some products for me to try so that my hair would become healthier and grow faster.

When I went back to Singapore I couldn’t find the brand that he mentioned so I asked my collegue Rachelle to recommend a good shampoo and she told me to try Phyto’s Revitalizing shampoo.

I was put off by the price however I did notice the dramatic improvement in her hair so I decided to try a bottle. Fast forward to 4 months later and my hair grew faster than normal and it became more healthy.  The shampoo seemed concentrated and would make my hair bubble even if I used a small amount. When my sister came to visit she even noticed the change in my hair.

I recommended the shampoo to my friend, Shanta and she also noticed improvement in her hair and she even bought some for her mom.
