MAAD stands for Market for Artists and Designers and this event is usually held every first Friday of the month. With the revamped MAAD format, the event is held at night and there are performances held at the same time. If you haven’t been to MAAD before, it is definitely worth the visit.
Sellers at this event are friendly and they can event give you a lot of product information for a piece that you are interested in. We met some new folks are reconnected with old ones. We were fortunate enough to be at the same spot as our friends Yen from Yen Paintings and Joyce from Chic Noir. Other friends, Sylvia from Bon Chat and Corine from Cloud9to5 got spots at the inside. I didn’t have time to take a photo of Joyce’s booth as there were always customer’s there when I wanted to take a shot.
Yen made a cool sketch of our booth. She did it so quickly and I do love it. We were talking with her and Joyce the whole night long that I almost forgot about the humid weather outside. Great company made the experience so much fun.
Here are a few of our favorite shops at MAAD:
Couldn’t resist and bought the pink one that says “I’m not sensitive. I’m in touch with my feelings.” I was told by one of the ladies from Epigram books that this notebook used to be a corporate gift for Clients and they were so popular that they decided to sell them. Cool idea.
We bought this book when we were at Public Garden. It was nice to see Christine and gang at MAAD. Get this book if you’d like an independent guide about Singapore.
